Pyrometallurgy Division raises funds for the disabled.

Mintek PDD staff members dressed in blue & white with character hats for Casual Day

This month, a group of employees in the Pyrometallurgy Division maintained their long-standing tradition of giving to those in need by raising R520 for Casual Day, a fundraising initiative to support persons with disabilities.

Recognised and celebrated countrywide annually on the first week of September, this year’s Casual Day theme “celebrate diversity with persons with disabilities” resonated with the division. They wore their Casual Day stickers and came dressed in blue jeans and white tops to show their stylish sense of fashion.

The group couldn’t miss the opportunity to showcase their team spirit for a good cause. The event also presented an opportunity to show diversity in the Division. Everyone who participated had a great time admiring different hats that people wore.

Isabel Geldenhuys, Manager at Pyrometallurgy division, said “I am very proud of my team for the continued generous support through the contribution to Casual Day over many years. Not only do we raise money towards a worthy cause, we also increase awareness amongst our own staff”.

Casual Day is a project of The National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD).
