Mintek is currently hosting a Training Programme on Minerals Processing and Beneficiation for 18 delegates who are from the member states of the Non-Aligned Movement Centre for Science and Technology (NAM/S&T) and other developing countries.
The programme which seeks to build beneficiation capacity within the NAM/S&T member states and other developing countries began on 13 August 2018 and will run until 19 October 2018. Delegates are from Nigeria, Sudan, Sri-Lanka, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Guyana, Kenya and South Africa and are employed in professional scientific and engineering fields in their respective organisations
Mintek Acting CEO, Sakhi Simelane said “Mintek is happy to be playing part in capacity building of NAM member states. We are indebted to NAM and the DST in entrusting Mintek this responsibility. The programme has become popular, and has culminated to the Memorandums of Understanding signed with a number of organisations.”
The NAM S&T Centre promotes various activities in the fields of science and technology in order to strengthen cooperation among non-aligned and other developing countries.
