Mintek, in collaboration with Zeiss, South Africa will host a Workshop on Materialography, Metallography and Fractures from 21– 23 May 2019 at Mintek. The three-day workshop will present the latest developments in image analysis techniques, and how automated hardware and software workflows are able to solve the facing the mining and steel industries.
The workshop will be presented by guest speaker, Professor George Vander Voort, Consultant in Materialography, Failure Analysis and Acheometallurgy from Illinois, United States of America. Vander Voort will present insights into Metallography of ferrous and nonferrous materials, microstructures of cast irons, copper, aluminium, welds and coatings, measurement of microstructures, advanced manufacturing – casting & powder metallurgy, composites, polymers & ceramics, failure analysis, heat treatment and light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and corrosion. ZEISS will exhibit its range of image analysis systems.
